The Story of WASA

By teaching the world about the many benefits of wild-caught Alaska sole, WASA contributes to the continued growth of an industry that feeds the world sustainably, consistently, and with heart.

Why WASA Formed

While there are many species of Wild Alaska Sole, there has never been any single group to highlight this fish and its many benefits. WASA formed in 2023 to lead the industry, educate the public, and share our appreciation, understanding, and best practices. We’re the first organization to ever fully focus on the many positive aspects of these flatfish, from their natural abundance to their nutritional properties. From features and facts to catching and cooking, WASA is building a story of authentic appreciation for Wild Alaska Sole.
